About Dysport®

We require each patient to schedule a personal consultation before their procedure for us to establish a cohesive treatment plan. This ensures that each aspect of the procedure is fully tailored towards helping each patient look and feel their best. Dr. Omidi will examine the condition of the skin before recommending a treatment plan that aligns with your personal goals. Preparation for Dysport®
Before their scheduled appointment, each patient will receive a set of personalized instructions from Dr. Omidi on how to properly prepare for their procedure. Patients should prepare their skin by avoiding the use of harsh skincare such as retinoids, peels, or exfoliants while also ensuring they stay hydrated. You should wear sun protection when outside and avoid sun exposure when possible. You may also need to stop using certain medications or supplements, especially those with blood-thinning properties, and avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before and after your appointment. All patients must arrive at their procedure with a clean face, free of skincare and makeup.
Dysport® Procedure
At the beginning of each procedure, we can apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area to help minimize any potential discomfort, though this is not always necessary. We will administer Dysport® into the targeted muscles. These injections will be focused on areas of the face that undergo a lot of movement, reducing the amount of activity while maintaining each patient’s natural expressions. This procedure is shorter in duration, often lasting only 15-30 minutes, but this can change depending on the goals of each patient.
Recovery and Results
While patients can return to their daily schedule immediately, they should avoid strenuous activities and massaging or touching the treatment area for the first 24 hours of recovery. The effects of the treatment will gradually take effect, with results beginning to appear after 2-3 days. Dysport® relaxes the muscles, eliminating fine lines and wrinkles around various parts of the face, revitalizing and restoring a more youthful appearance. The results of the procedure can last between 3-4 months on average, with some patients seeing extended results. (4)
Some patients may find that they need more than one treatment to achieve their ideal results. We recommend patients wait at least 90 days between each touch-up treatment. Does Dysport® hurt?
Dysport® is a well-tolerated treatment due to the topical anesthesia used during the procedure, as well as the very fine needles designed to minimize discomfort. Will I need multiple Dysport® injections? Patients can often see noticeable results from Dysport after just one treatment session. However, the results of Dysport are temporary. Can I combine Dysport® with other treatments?
Yes, you can combine Dysport® with other nonsurgical treatments. Patients often opt to combine their Dysport® treatment with a second nonsurgical treatment.
